It seemed daft to stay on a farm with stables and horses, not having a go at horse riding. There again, it seemed daft to self inflict pain on oneself by riding an animal in whose presence we've never been comfortable.

As neither of us had even sat on a horse before this, Marco tactfully suggested we may need a few lessons before 'going for a horse ride' - and how right he was. On the Wednesday and Friday mornings Kate and I were given our first two riding lessons in the most glorious setting by an extremely good and patient teacher in the guise of Marco.
